If it has been 3 years since you held title to and lived in a primary residence, you meet CalHFA’s definition of a First Time Home Buyer.

This means that you are, if you qualify, able to make use of the First Time Home Buyer programs available for Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance.

This is definitely worth checking into, especially if you have a small savings balance that you’d rather keep on hand for emergencies as opposed to using for a down payment.

If you’d like more information regarding available down payment assistance programs, or low down payment loans, please read the information in my First Time Homebuyers section, feel free to email me at Linda@LindaOnLending, or give me a call at (800) 680-7875.
